For bloggers like me, I would like to recommend the use of web counters. Web counters are usually free. Some of them may require minimal fees. I don’t mind paying as long as its customization features suit my need.

There are hundreds of web counter online that has feature that can be only described as “state of the art”. Application or installation of tracking codes is very simple. Some of them are technically “cut and paste!”

Also, in choosing web counter consider those that are hosted. Hosted means they run on the same server as the provider. Make sure that your web counter has reputation! Some web counters are very unreliable and useless.

Web counters should also be safe, meaning it should not cause any privacy-related issue. As you may be well aware customers or blog readers hate being tracked. IP addresses are ok, but if you go as far as collecting information that are too personal, expect that they will no longer visit your site. Hahaha!
